<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Those of you who know me personally, know how much an invitation into the top 25 selected for an event like the Whitewater Grand Prix this year in Chile means to me. Its not just recognition, or the opportunity to represent my country at the most progressive and prestigious event in my sport. Its the opportunity to gather with the very best minds and athletes in our sport, continue to learn and progress as a paddler and person and as you know try and make some bad ass videos along the way.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I feel somewhat hesitant in asking for your assistance in helping me fund this trip, as it seems a very self indulgent thing ask for help to do. Especially after the most amazing year of kayaking in my life, paddling in Canada, USA, Norway, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia with some many great new friends. Also fulfilling my lifelong dream of paddling the everest of rivers, the Grand Canyon of the Stikine. I should now be hard at work at home here in Tasmania, Australia, Attempting to pay of a bumpers seasons of debts and save money for next years adventures. The invite could not have come at a worse time financially, only weeks away from christmas, to what is one of the most expensive destinations flying from Australia, on top of losing some of the best paid work of the year.</div>
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">

</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
So instead i pitch it you like this:</div>
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
A couple of years ago i created White Box Magazine (www.whiteboxmag.com),producing regular video web episodes, showcasing some exotic locations and some inspiring lines from some of the worlds best kayakers i have been lucky enough to paddle with, in the hopes that maybe it would inspire at least a few of you to go pack your bags, go out, and follow your dreams. Or get youngsters in the sport excited about the possibilities should they stick with it, growing our kayaking community, Just as i had been inspired by watching films as a kid. Its stayed %100 free and screenings have helped raise funds for countless clubs and events the world over. So if you choose to donate you will be doing two things, Firstly, showing some appreciation for what i have been sharing with you all, and secondly, helping me not only make some sick Chile episodes, but help out of a hole for the coming spring, which would inevitable keep me flipping burgers or some such, and not making films.</div>
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; min-height: 14.0px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Why not chase funding from the paddling industry?</div>
</div>
<div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
Firstly if you think there are more than a handful of paddlers even covering their costs of living the river gyps lifestyle you are very much mistaken. Most like myself self fund all our own trips through normal jobs, all are greatly appreciative of even the smallest discount on their gear. We are not rockstars and coming from Australia i can tell you i feel like the jamaican bobsled team sometimes when attempting to find support else where. Lets face it 99.999% of us paddlers squander away every penny we make to support our habit. It would not sit well with me to be one of the .001%, its not the reason i kayak, if it was, i would have to take a long hard look at myself. However, having never made a profit from paddling or producing films, i have sunken every cent into not only travel, gear and food, but the camera gear i use to make the videos you enjoy</div>

With around 14km of bc bushwacking and high alpine portaging in some of the most remote BC backcountry.<br />However... The North Stein's 1.5km of whitewater is worth every step, delivering you into the upper raches of the normal Stein fly-in run, taking a total of 4 days to complete.<br /><br />This has to be on of the best multi day trips ever and is definatly worth the work to get in. Although with the 14km of pain behind you, fully loaded boats make some of the bigger drops pretty scary.<br /><br />so very sick<br /><br /><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/28791850?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="398" height="219" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""></iframe>Adrian Kiernanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02747573099133531671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28015493.post-26793260222098331642011-10-21T08:37:00.000-07:002011-10-21T08:38:10.668-07:00BRITISH COLUMBIA - Whitewater Paradise<div style="font: normal normal normal 12px/normal 'DejaVu Sans', 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: rgb(249, 249, 249); margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 2px; padding-right: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; padding-left: 2px; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-width: initial; border-color: initial; font-family: Times; font-size: medium; ">"WHITEBOX PADDLESPORTS VIDEO MAGAZINE"</div><div style="font: normal normal normal 12px/normal 'DejaVu Sans', 'Lucida Grande', 'Lucida Sans Unicode', Arial, sans-serif; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: rgb(249, 249, 249); margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-left: 0px; padding-top: 2px; padding-right: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px; padding-left: 2px; border-top-style: none; border-right-style: none; border-bottom-style: none; border-left-style: none; border-width: initial; border-color: initial; font-family: Times; font-size: medium; "><br /><div>"BRITISH COLUMBIA, WHITEWATER PARADISE."</div><div>"A visual taste of BC's best Rivers and Creeks."</div><div><br /></div><div>Featuring the very best eye candy of stunning lines and landscapes, shot on BC's finest creeks, river and streams.</div><div><br /></div><div>This whitwater hucker's guide includes everything from classic afterwork runs to multi-day expeditions - filmed in just over 2 months of BC summer.</div><div><br /></div><div>KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN for part 2 coming soon!</div><div><br /></div><div>Episode 1 Includeds: Tatlow Creek, Rogers Creek, Cheakemus, Callaghan, North Stein, Homathko, Clearwater, Raft River, Skookum Creek, Ashlu and many many more!</div><div><br /></div><div>Plug in your load speaker and turn it up!</div><div><br /></div><div>Proudly Supported By: Fluid Kayaks and Kayak4play</div><div>Enjoy! - Adrian Kiernan - Whitebox Magazine</div><div><br /></div><div><iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/29999663?title=0&byline=0&portrait=0" width="400" height="225" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen="" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div></div>Adrian Kiernanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02747573099133531671noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28015493.post-49914064999299423882010-10-23T18:37:00.000-07:002010-10-23T18:38:43.229-07:00Norrish Creek BC<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/16130106?portrait=0&color=0" width="405" height="223" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/16130106">GBA 6 - Norrish Creek BC</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user1345258">Adrian Kiernan</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com/">Vimeo</a>.</p><p><br /></p>My exited first day with my new Go - Pro HD, On a medium'sh volume Norrish Creek run.<br />This was my first creek run i ever did in when arriving in BC and is still a favourite.<br /><br />Located around 1 hour from Vancouver<br /><br />Adrian KiernaAdrian Kiernanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02747573099133531671noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28015493.post-80460932295572864842010-10-23T15:37:00.000-07:002010-10-23T15:39:03.571-07:00Lea River Extreme - Headcam - Tasmania<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/16119589?portrait=0&color=0" width="405" height="223" frameborder="0"></iframe><p><a href="http://vimeo.com/16119589">GBA 5 - Lea River Extreme - Headcam - Tasmania</a> from <a href="http://vimeo.com/user1345258">Adrian Kiernan</a> on <a href="http://vimeo.com">Vimeo</a>.</p><br /><br />Filmed during the 8th Annual TEVA Lea Extreme Race in northern Tasmania.
